well, if I am being picky it has no main off switch and stays in standby but I think this is common for LCD. It is a very low power consumption standby though and the TV has the Energy Saving Trust recomendation so it can't be bad. |

| This TV offers the highest quality and is the most feature packed for the best value from a top name. It also looks superb. For around £650 including delivery for a 40" Samsung TV you can't go wrong.
We bought ours from 24-7 Electrical and they were superb. It is £639.10 including 2day delivery and Curry's wanted £899.99 when we bought ours!!! That's an amazing saving. |

| Ref :- LE40R87BD the look of this tv is fab until you switch it on!!The first one i had sent had a faulty speaker on the left ...had to put it onto the right hand speaker only!!...when i spoke to samsung they said they know about this problem . Replacement was sent on this one if you put it on standby it looses all its freeview channels and you have to switch it off at plug and start again (samsung are aware of this problem too!!) getting a refund what a shame such a nice looking tv | |||

| I've played with the digital freeview picture that some high - street shops have, on different sets. (currys , pcworld.) This one seemed the best. | |||

| 40 inches at a cheap price of £722 from beyond television.(UK) Im only watching UK digital freeview TV, and being only six miles from the crystal palace transmitter have a strong signal. Most of the channels are very clear, with the screen automatically changing aspect ratio, if necessary. Individual hairs can often be seen on presenters heads, and defects of make-up! The colours are excellent, outdoor and wildlife shots are panoramic, and bright. Even the red-bull air race in arizona? with sandstone butresses and desert was brilliant. Aircraft sometimes looked like quality photographs in motion. movement was very good, I think. The tv has a back-light feature to make the colours more vibrant and brighter, which you only get on the expensive sony's. Very seldom any "noise" around objects, and not a real issue.
some digital channels can almost look like HD. The sound seems quite reasonable in a small room. Speech is clear. The srs wow is off, an equaliser is in the settings, but I still have to play with it. The remote is good. |

| This set has two TV tuners built in. The five-channel standard reception is not so good, and a bit grainy. I wouldnt bother with this tuner, deselect it on the remote. although the digital tuner is very good, If slightly slow. not a real issue. | |||
| Im really very happy with this TV. When the UK gets HD TV in six years or so, then I will consider a replacement. For this price I can definitly live with it, and replace it if needs be. The movement issues are minor, and you would have to pay a lot more to get anything similar. Thumbs up! | |||
