hi chunky i know how to correct you the apple ipod touch you saw was the older version also known as 1st generation the other apple ipod touch that was 168.00 pounds was a different make it was the new version 2nd generation really really not talking horrible here but ever thought they were out of stock and waiting for delivery of that item the 2st generation ipod 1st gen 2nd gen big difference
the company advertise the Ipod touch 8GB, under stock number 513/5358, at a knock down price of £128.90, but I have failed to locate any stock in the south Wales area. If, however, you check their website for Ipods and chech availability of the same product under stock number 513/8458, at the price of £169, you will find they have them in stock. This smells of a marketing ploy, or to put it straight, a down right con.
Advertisng Ipod touch in press for very good price, could not find a single store in kent with stock, and not available on line. Marketing ploy i think.
Sent an email to argos complaining and yet to get reply.
Placed order online for several hundred pounds. Despite delivery quote of 14-21 days, amount was debited from my credit card account within 48 hours of placing order. They would not allow me to amend my order, so I had to cancel. They quoted 7-10 days before amount would be credited to my account.
They are the only well known/high street company I have dealt with who operate in this manner. Most allow amendments up to time of despatch, which is when they debit money from credit card accounts.
If Argos can debit money within 48 hours, why can't they credit money in the same time scale. Sharp practice which should be outlawed.
Never more. I purchased a bike in argos and paid extra for weekend delivery since as every normal person in this world, I have to work. Long story short the item arrived 2 hours later than the latest hour. It was not only difficult to put the bike together, the instructions are like put the wheel on, the aforementioned wheel was wobbly, the tools provided didn't work well, the pedals hit the front wheel once they were on, the brakes were misaligned (the front brake wheel didn't work at all, etc), very dangerous to ride. I asked for collection and refund and took a day off since they can't give you a collection time(is that so difficult I wonder?). They never came. I called them up have to take another day off and so far they are not here. Nightmare. I will never buy in Argos anymore.
