Decided with the help of Which? as to which TV to buy and settled for the Samsung 40LE550. John Lewis were by far the most competive at £599 and that was before taking into account their free 5 year guarantee (which with some of their competitors would have cost £229).
Rang Cribbs Causeway branch who didn't have the TV in stock but advised it could be ready for collection two days later or delivered later that week "Free of Charge".
I then contacted Solihull branch who confirmed the item in stock. Made our way to Solihull and although the assistant offered a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma for just £14 more, I eventually stuck to my original choice.
Got in conversation with another shopper who said he always buys his electrical appliances from John Lewis. As an example of their service, he told me he had a problem with his 4 year old washing machine. Following a phone call to the store and a visit from a repair man, the item was replaced without quibble.
Having heard that of the Guara
